How it all Began

The Bell Tent Shop was born out of our love for The North American Tipi. 

Our sister company The Tipi Hire Company Ltd was created 15 years ago by myself and my business partner Carl. 

We love the North American Indian philosophy of living with nature and only taking what one needs. To be gentle & respect Mother Earth and tread gently wherever you walk. The North American Indian had many brilliant ideas and the one that captivated us was his simple but effective shelter, the North American Tipi. 

At this time we were hoping to live a more nomadic lifestyle in Southern Spain so we decided to buy a tipi.  Due to circumstances, the idea to move to Spain was put on the back-burner and we were left with a beautiful Sioux tipi sitting in the shed. 

I decided to design a website and see if people might be interested in experiencing staying in a tipi for a few nights to experience the magical space that it offers. The idea became an instant hit and The Tipi Hire Company was born! 

Our customers asked if we could also supply a smaller tent so we looked around and fell in love with The Bell Tent, another idea that was born originally by the North American Indians. 

We have decided to focus on selling luxurious bell tent interiors, accessories and fun festival gear.
